Got these for my husband that doesn't wear dress shoes but needed them for a wedding, I was in a hurry and ordered without reading reviews. Ones I had time I sat down to review what I had gotten and was disappointed to see the reviews all said they were a full size to larg! I ordered a size 12, and was very worried they would be huge on him and we didn't have time to re order... I was also worried that the smell was really gonna be awful.They arived the day before we excited and to my surprise they fit him perfectly! His foot it quite wide and that may play into it, but he had no issues what so ever with it feeling to large and even mentioned that they were more comfortable than he expected. And I could smell the plastic smell but I think unless you are really sensitive to smells it probably wouldn't bug you, I couldn't smell it when I stood next to him or anything only when he had just taken the shoe off or if I stuck my nose right close to it, but it has since faded a lot and even now if I smell them they really are not as terrible as I expected.For us this shoe was great for its purpose, he wont wear them much and hes not use to fancy dress shoes so it was a great buy in our book. As far as wear and tear, he wore them one full day and has no scratches on them.
