I have a slight 'pear' shape that tends to be mostly straight up and down. This is a flattering style for my shape. However, ordering any fitted garment online can be tricky. You must know your shape, measurements, AND assess which parts of the garment will be most forgiving. Seller provided sizing menu is pretty accurate.I'm not crazy about sharing my size details, but am doing it to give an accurate review: Bust 46", Waist 43", Hips 49". Because this dress looks high-waisted (and it is), I intended to focus on the hip and bust measurements to determine what size to order, which placed me in the 2XL size.I was still unsure so contacted the seller and was advised that most order the largest size within their measurements. For me that meant a 4X to fit my waist measurement - meaning also that the hips and bust would be 2X the required size needed. Hips can always be looser fitting, but a 4X would require major reshaping alterations on the bodice - something I was hoping to avoid. I referred back to the high waist design, and decided to split the difference and order a 3X. I wear a 1X in everyday clothing and the 3X turned out to be a perfect fit in the waist and hips, and the bodice needs shoulder traps shortened and sides taken in (also hemmed because I'm short!). The jacket fits as is.I'm fortunate to have a local seamstress who really knows her stuff. If buying off the rack she suggests buying it tight as garments always have seam allowances that can be let out. This is NOT the case with this particular garment. If you are a mature shape, like me, then you must make a calculated guess that includes taking in the loose sections.Hope this review was helpful.
